University courses at Adrian College

Adrian College Athletics are an important part of student life at Adrian, where you'll have the chance to realize personal growth through physical accomplishment. Whether you want to join an intercollegiate team, participate in organized intramurals, develop life skills in a sport, or just have fun, you'll find lots of opportunities at AC.

Adrian is committed to a broad-based program of intercollegiate athletics, sponsoring 16 varsity sports - eight for men and eight for women. As a freshman, you'll have the opportunity to play on a varsity team, and if you have little background in a sport, junior varsity sports allow you to discover whether you have the talent and dedication to make it at the varsity level. Intramural teams allow you to participate in a structured but less intense competitive environment.

Who We Are

Our athletic program has a long tradition of winning in one of the toughest NCAA Division III conferences in the country. Adrian competes in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), the oldest athletic conference in the nation. Each member of the MIAA - Adrian, Albion, Alma, Calvin, Hope, Kalamazoo, Olivet, and St. Mary's (Indiana) - emphasizes the balance between academic achievement and athletic competition. Champions of the MIAA are likely to qualify for NCAA Division III national tournaments.

As a member of the NCAA Division III, we do not award athletic scholarships. Instead, we make financial assistance available to those students who meet the college's academic standards and demonstrate financial need. All of our students receive the same high level of attention in admissions, academic advising, course selection, living and dining accommodations, and financial aid.
