University courses at Carnegie Mellon University West Coast Campus

Since 1999, Carnegie Mellon University has been working to develop a presence in Silicon Valley. At that time, the university aspired toward research partnerships with NASA and other Silicon Valley companies. They sought to establish educational programs, offer special internships and work opportunities to students on the Pittsburgh campus, and develop closer ties with the nearly 3,000 alumni who live and work in the valley.

A Carnegie Mellon education aims to prepare students for life and leadership. In a continually changing world, the most important qualities we can help our students develop are the ability to think independently and critically, the ability to learn, and the ability to change and grow. As future leaders they must have courage to act, be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, understand and value diversity, and honor the responsibilities that come with specialized knowledge and power.
