University courses at Christian Brothers University

Christian Brothers University Christian Brothers College was founded November 19, 1871, by members of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Schools, a Roman Catholic religious teaching congregation. Christian Brothers University became co-educational in 1970. Currently, women make up approximately fifty five percent of the student body. Officially, Christian Brothers College became Christian Brothers University in June of 1990.

As a Catholic university, CBU is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and shares in the mission of promoting the Reign of God in the education of youth and adults. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097) to award the Bachelor's Degree and the Master's Degree.
