Founded in 1899 by the Sisters of Charity; incorporated in 1900. This is the oldest college for women in New Jersey and one of the first Catholic colleges in the United States to award degrees to women. And it is ccredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education since 1921.The mission of the College of Saint Elizabeth is to be a community of learning in the Catholic liberal arts tradition for students of diverse ages, backgrounds and cultures.
