Interdenominational Theological Center The Interdenominational Theological Center is the world's premier resources for black church scholarship and faith-based solutions to the spiritual and socio-economic challenges confronting the African American community. The institution advocates a more aggressive role for churches in the renewal of American society, with special emphasis on the development of "public theologian:-- men and women of faith with special training for and commitment to nurturing the spiritual, moral, and economic empowerment of distressed communities throughout the nation.

ITC is an independent, nonprofit, coeducational graduate school of theology. It was established in 1958 to consolidate the resources and carry on the mission of its constituent seminaries-- preparing men and women of faith for leadership in church and society. Several of ITC's oldest founding constituent seminaries -- beginning with their own establishment in the 19th century-- already had earned reputations for excellence in education and service to the African American community and the nation.
