Mayland Community College is located in Blue Ridge section of the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina on the Avery/Michell county line. MCC is chartered to serve Mitchell, Avery and Yancey counties (hence the name Mayland) and has since 1971. MCC serves more than 8000 persons each year through our educational programs, including more than twenty percent of the adult population within our service area.
