Niagara University is a private coeducational liberal arts university founded in 1856 by the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers. As the oldest Vincentian university in the United States, we have a rich Catholic heritage that enriches every aspect of life at Niagara. We welcome students of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds.

Niagara University seeks to develop the whole person — mind, body, heart, and soul — for the benefit of each student's personal and professional life. We draw inspiration from St. Vincent de Paul, who organized his contemporaries to respond compassionately to people's basic needs. Continuing this tradition, Niagara seeks to inspire its students to serve all members of society, especially the poor and oppressed, in local communities and in the larger world.
