The Urban College of Boston (UCB): A Two-Year College, is an independent, co-educational two-year higher education institution located in the heart of downtown Boston. UCB is a close partner of Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), which is one of the nation's largest community action agencies and Boston's official antipoverty agency. UCB provides inner-city residents who might otherwise never go to college with the opportunity to achieve higher education credentials and skills tied to upwardly mobile careers. The College provides students with extensive support services that enable them to stay in school and complete their degrees. UCB prepares students so that they are successful in college level courses, assisting them in completing degree and certificate programs, while increasing their confidence levels and ego strengths.
