Vance-Granville Community College Vance-Granville Community College (VGCC) is a community college in North Carolina serving Vance, Granville, Franklin, and Warren counties. It was established in 1969 by the North Carolina General Assembly as Vance County Technical Institute (VCTI). VGCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees. It is the largest rural community college among the 58 schools in the North Carolina Community College System, according to the 2004-2005 report from VGCC President Randy Parker.

The report for 2005-2006 stated that 5,550 students were enrolled in curriculum that year, with an additional 12,825 people receiving continuing education. VGCC boasts a staff of approximately 967, including part-time staff.
