Westfield State College Westfield State College (WSC) was founded in 1839 by Horace Mann. Westfield State is a four-year, coeducational, comprehensive public college. The most residential of the nine Massachusetts state colleges, Westfield State takes pride in its warm, comfortable atmosphere and small class sizes. Our priorities are dynamic, effective teaching, and student involvement in the life of the college and the community.
