Admission Application

The application is an important part of the college admission system, generally is formed by academic records, personal essays, letters of recommendation, and a list of extracurricular activities.

Common Application


This organization provides member institutions of many students’ admission applications. A student can send his/her application online or in print, and it is sent to participating colleges. This is a useful resource to save time and be more focused in things like college research, admission interviews, essay writing and resume writing, etc.

Common Applications are used for millions of students and many of them are accepted by members. Even some members use the Common Application as their official undergraduate admission application.

Not all the Colleges are members, only those who use holistic process to select the students, and to send the Common Application to Colleges that are not members is prohibited.

The process requires sending some information provided by teachers or counselors who know the student since the first year. The Form System used to be simple, but now is more interactive and easy to use. Now there is an option online via the Common App Online School Forms system for teacher that want to use this way or there is the traditional way that consists in making a Pdf document and mail it to certain persons.

College Application Deadlines


  • Early applications in most Colleges are received from November 1 to November 15. Some colleges have added a second date for early applications and it is January 1.
  • Regular College Application deadlines generally are from January 1 to February 1.
  • College Application for transfer students has a deadline in May 1.
