College Interview tips

Be punctual; Go to the interview at least ten minutes before the designate hour.
Be relaxed, don't make yourself nervous, think positively and everything will be ok.
Eye contact is very important during an interview, try to show self assurance when speaking with your interviewer.
If you already know about the interview possible questions, don't try to memorize your answers, be spontaneus and answer the questions as a real person not as a robot.
Focus on the answers you are going to give, the most important thing is to be honest.
Use the body language (gestures, posture and facial expression), do not exagerate, but use it to look more communicative.
Don't give small answers to the interviewer's questions, show you have more to say and you feel comfortable with the conversation.
Do not use too casual language like “Yeah” or “Uh-uh”.
If your interviewer makes you a question you don't know the answer, be honest and answer politely with “I will have to think that over”, that is better to pretend you know the answer and give a wrong response.
Be updated with important information about education, politics and other areas, read the newspapers so you can speak easily if one of these themes comes to a conversation.
Say good bye politely, shake hands and thank for the consideration and the interviewer's time.
When you're at home, take notes about the interview, it can help you in the next interviews.
Write a thank you letter to the interviewer.

What to wear

Try to wear something comfortable, not too casual but elegant.

For women, nice slacks and a blouse with a blazer or a simple dress are recommended. Use a simple makeup and do not get a lot of jewelry or bracelets. Shoes should be not with high heels, try to use shoes with low or medium heels, preferably a sober color like black, brown or dark blue.

For men, jeans, caps and sneakers are too casual, instead use a suit, shirt, tie and elegant shoes.
